Each class runs for 8 weeks and is conducted in weekly 1 hour sessions. New sessions are being scheduled now, call for more info. Classes Offered: Monday nights from November 28 – January 23 (8 weeks/ 1 hour per week) No class on 12/26. 7:00 – 8:00: Kindergarten Puppy Training - Cost: $145 For puppies 10 weeks to 5 months. Class covers basic obedience such as sit, down, come, and walking on a loose leash. Home manners such as housetraining, chewing, and jumping are covered. Puppies are given the opportunity to socialize with other puppies and handlers in class. 8:15 – 9:15: Pet Beginner Obedience/Manners - Cost: $145 For dogs 5 months or older. Class covers basic obedience such as sit, down, come, stay, and walking on a loose leash. Home manners are covered as needed. Dogs will be taught manners around other dogs and people. Some tricks and games are taught for fun and motivation. Tuesday nights from November 29 – January 24 (8 weeks/1 hour per week) No class on 12/27. 7:00 – 8:00: CGC (Canine Good Citizen) - Cost: $145 Prerequisite: KPT or Pet Beginners/Manners. CGC is an AKC certification program designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. All dogs (mixed or purebred) who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. This class will teach the 10 exercises required for the CGC. DOTF will offer a CGC certification test after the class completes. 7:00 – 8:00: Beginner/Advanced Beginner Agility - Cost: $145 Prerequisite: KPT or Pet Beginners/Manners or equivalent training. Introduction to agility obstacles; improvement of obedience / attention skills needed for success in agility. Includes jumps, tunnel, seesaw, weave poles, other standard agility equipment. Class level will be adjusted for ability of dogs in the class. 8:15 – 9:15: Pet Beginner Obedience/Manners - Cost: $145 See above for description. 8:15 – 9:15: Intermediate/Novice Agility - Cost: $145 Prerequisite: Beginner/Advanced Beginner Agility class or equivalent training. Your dog knows the obstacles, now we need to work more on what you have to do to get the dog around the course! Class will focus on improving both obstacle performance and development of handler skills.
